What does sending an SMS cost?

An SMS costs 8 credits. Depending on how you purchased your credits, you can send SMS text messages very cheap!

How can I pay for my SMSes?

We charge credits for every SMS you send. So you need an account, and you need to have purchased credits.

You can purchase credits in different ways:

Use the Pay-By-Phone number: (coming soon)
By calling this number you automatically pay the price mentioned on the page to SMSplayground and the credits will be added to your account. With these credits you can send SMS messages.

Purchase through PayPal. You can purchase credits by choosing one or more PayPal packages.
You can also use a credit card to pay our PayPal-account.

Purchase through a bank transfer. You can buy credits by choosing one or more bank transfer packages.
Packages can make SMSing very cheap!
Please note: In conjunction with special actions, more credits could be added to your account. Please visit our main page to look for special actions!

How long does sending an SMS take?

This depends on how busy it is. Normally an SMS will be sent within seconds, but can take up to one minute if it is very busy.

What countries can you send messages to?

The short answer is most! SMSplayground has coverage in more than 500 networks in 182 countries. For a details list of networks covered by SMSplayground, please visit our coverage page.

How many characters are available in an SMS?

One SMS message can contain a maximum of 160 characters. You can also use up to 11 characters as sender id.
On our site it is possible to send an SMS of 480 characters (= 3 SMS messages).

How does purchasing work?

You have to log in and click on 'Purchase credits' in the left menu.

(coming soon) If you want to purchase by phone you call the Pay-By-Phone number of SMSplayground. You will be given a pincode. Please write down this pincode carefully! You fill in the pincode on the screen. If the pincode is correct the credits will be added to your account.

You can also pay by PayPal or bank transfer, click the corresponding PayPal buttons or the link 'Bank transfer instruction'. They have a step-by-step explanation.
Please note: In conjunction with special actions or extras, more credits could be added to your account!

I haven't received my credits, but I did enter a valid pincode!

After calling, your credits will be added (almost) immediately. If that isn't the case, you either entered the wrong pincode or wrote down the wrong pincode. Please try again carefully. Oftentimes the problem is a typo. Should this not solve the problem, please contact SMSplayground.comGive us the details, including your e-mail address, the date and time, and with the pincode that you were given.

I change my number/email adress, What do I do now?

Please click on 'My account', after you logged in and change your information there. You can also change your other information there.

I lost my password / I did not receive a registration e-mail, What do I do now?

Did you forget your password or lost your registration email? Please click here to ask for a new password, and follow the instructions. To get the new registration email, you have to log in first. You will see a button to send yourself a new registration email. The registration email will be sent to you again. Please check to see if your e-mail address is correct.

Please note! If you do not receive any e-mail, check your mailbox and see if e-mail has been flagged as spam, and has been moved to your spam folder or junk mailbox.

It says I used more credits that I think I used.

It is important to remember exactly what you did. Credits do not just disappear.
Click in the left menu on the link 'SMS history' to view your sent SMSes, and then check your remaining credits again. If you are still convinced something has gone wrong, please contact the SMSplayground.com helpdesk. Give us the details, including your e-mail address, the date and time, and a detailed description of your problem. We will then contact you as soon as possible.

How long are my credits valid?

Credits do not expire. You don't have to worry, you will have ample time to use them.

How do I change my password, cell phone number or my general info?

Please log in. Then click on the link 'My account'. You can change your password, e-mail address and cellphone number there. You can also change your personal info there.

Can I see a history of my SMSes?

SMS text messages are saved for three months. After that the messages are archived and will no longer show up in your history report.
You also have the possibility of deleting SMS messages yourself before that time.

Does it cost the recipient to receive messages?

To the recipient, an SMS message sent via the web is identical to that sent via a mobile phone.
In most countries around the world it does not cost anything to receive a text message. There are a few exceptions, most notable the USA.
